Carbide coating of any size hydraulic pistons, cylinders, rams for long life
Hydraulic Rams, Pistons
Industries: MDF, Particleboard, Steel, earth moving, general engineering
General Overview: Tungsten carbide coating of cylinder surfaces for longest life possible, highly engineered bushings and seals
Expected life extension: 4-10
Avweld repair, upgrade and manufacture hydraulic rams, cylinders, seals and bushes. We use HVAF applied Tungsten Carbides on the rams and engineered plastic bushes and seals. This method of repair is most suitable for high wear areas such as platen press rams, tensioning rams on sander drums and other rams exposed to severe wear. These materials will offer at least a four fold increase in life over conventional hardchrome rams and phos.-bronze bushes. The daylight presses see the most significant use as their function is high wear. They benefit greatly from the HVAF tungsten carbide which does not score in the manner of hardchrome.
Avweld’s HVAF tungsten carbide coating is Australia’s only certified porosity free tungsten carbide spray deposit. This means that there is never any hydraulic fluid penetrating the hardfacing, and the coating won’t delaminate. Avweld regularly re-engineer rams and pistons ranging in size from 200mm length to 6m length.
